Limited personal pilot · Local-first backup workflow

Codex Cold Archive

Preserve selected Codex desktop sessions off-device without giving up control of the source files, encryption key, or Google Drive account.

Google Drive access

Least privilege by design

The app requests the Google Drive drive.file scope. It can access only the Drive files and folders it creates or that you explicitly open with it—not the rest of your Drive.

Recovery

Verified before trusted

Backups use mature storage and encryption tools. An isolated restore, integrity check, and source readback are required before a backup is considered recoverable.

What the workflow does

Four explicit steps. No silent deletion.

  1. 01
    Select

You choose the sessions included in a backup.

  2. 02
    Encrypt

Restic encrypts content before it is stored remotely.

  3. 03
    Verify

The repository is read back and restored in isolation.

  4. 04
    Decide

Backup, restore, and local deletion remain separate user decisions.

Transparent data handling

OAuth tokens remain on the user’s device. YuChe Lab does not operate a server that receives session contents, sell personal information, or use Google user data for advertising.
